PROGRAMME
Monday 11th November
Arrival at the airports of Venice or Trieste and transfer to Verona
Accommodation at the 5-star Hotel Due Torri.
Reference hotel in Verona: a long history, the panoramic terrace, the Sala Casarini... Dating back to 1300, it has spanned the centuries, providing hospitality since 1674. In the 19th century the palace was the scene of important historical events, such as the coronation of King Louis XVII of France; the signing of the Treaty of Villafranca between Napoleon III, Victor Emmanuel II, Archduke Rainier and Marshal Radetzky; Giuseppe Garibaldi's speech to the Veronese in 1866, overlooking Piazza Santa Anastasia
Lunch in a typical " Enoteca" with tasting of Veronese wines: Valpolicella and its Amarone, Soave, Bardolino, Lugana, Custoza, Monti Lessini Durello, Valdadige / Terra dei Forti,Arcole.

In the evening: Incontri d'eccellenza: Meeting with Giovanni Zenatello, the great Veronese tenor who moved to New York and invented Opera in the Arena in 1913 and discovered Callas in 1947: HOTEL ACCADEMIA ****S A musical aperitif with Gianni Zenatello,
discovering the history of Opera in the Arena from 1913, when his uncle Giovanni organised the famous First Aida in the Arena. Not only that, Maria Callas was his discovery when he made her debut in the Arena on 2 August 1947; after that she became LA CALLAS. At the Academy, a room is entirely dedicated to these memories, with photos, books and original confidential letters. The meeting will also see the presence of 3 opera artists, winners of important prizes, who will intervene bringing their readings and performing some arias live.

Guided tour of the historical centre of Verona:
Visit to the temple of Opera: Arena di Verona: 2000 years of history, 100 years of Opera, the largest open-air opera house in the world.
Visit of Palazzo Verità Poeta: one of the oldest Veronese families, perhaps among the founders of the city, owners of the most beautiful private palace in Verona, with a large internal garden
Visit to the Gran Guardia di Verona: the historic location with the largest rooms for events and conferences in the city.
Visit to the temple of Love: Casa di Giulietta visit to the Courtyard of the mansion, dedicated to the greatest love story ever told.
Lunch in a typical restaurant with tasting of Veronese wines
Departure to Venice Tronchetto and by motor boat to Murano

Visit to an ancient Murano glassworks to watch a master glassmaker at work
Dinner at NH Murano Villa
Overnight
